The Sloan Creek Tract (#03019-03739) is a +/- 18.47-acre (per tax records) tract of timberland located in northeastern Columbia County about eight miles southeast of Magnolia, AR (North 33.33556°, West 93.11802°). Most of the topography is consists of gently rolling hills sloping downard towards Sloan Creek. A gated private woodsroad runs northerly for about a mile to the southern edge of the property. The land was harvested roughly 10 years ago and has been partially planted back with loblolly pine and partially allowed to regenerate naturally. A stream-side management zone (SMZ) buffer of hardwood was left standing along Sloan Creek. According to the USDA NRCS web soil survey, the soils consist of predominately Sacul fine sandy loam and Guyton silt loam, which give the tract a weighted average site index of 95.9 feet for Loblolly Pine (base age 50) for the portion rated.
