With 8 years of real estate experience with United Country | H5 Auction & Realty, Jay specializes in farm, ranch, recreational, and rural properties throughout East Texas. His background in agriculture, property ownership, business, management, and education gives him a well-rounded understanding of the East Texas real estate market.
Before entering real estate, Jay spent 28 years as a teacher and coach in Texas and Arkansas at the public, private, and collegiate levels. He also owned and operated a pest control business before selling it to his son-in-law. His real estate experience includes owning commercial properties, purchasing, renovating, and selling residential homes, managing properties for out-of-state owners, and extensive hands-on farming experience in East Texas.
Jay's firsthand knowledge of rural land and agriculture makes him a valuable resource for buyers and sellers of East Texas farms, ranches, hunting properties, recreational land, and rural homes. He combines local market knowledge with proven marketing strategies and traditional networking to help clients achieve their real estate goals.
Committed to continuing education, Jay has completed his GRI (Graduate, REALTOR® Institute) coursework and continually stays informed on local, state, and national real estate trends. He is a member of the Realtors Land Institute (RLI), Realtree United Country Hunting Properties, and the Land.com network of real estate professionals. His hard work and dedication earned him recognition as a United Country Top Producer in 2023.
When he's not helping clients, Jay enjoys farming on his family property in Marshall, Texas, as well as hunting hogs and whitetail deer. Jay and his wife, Karol, have three children and four grandchildren.
